After I created the character of Chicken Grit, he needed some buddies - The Mutant Furies were born. In this week's blog read about the eclectic bunch that make up the group of vigilantes.

Last week, to celebrate our November 13th release of our comic book I revealed the cover of Chicken Grit & the Mutant Furies. After introducing you to Chicken Grit, the main character of our debut comic book 'Chicken Grit & The Mutant Furies I thought it was only polite to show you the rest of the gang! Soup Can Kid, American Made, Mean Bean, and Wing Commander. These misfits all have their own personal reasons for fighting Wolf Corp which you can read here, but together they realise they are stronger! Realising Chicken Grit needs help, the Mutant Furies offer him a place on the team.
Once I had drawn Chicken Grit I knew I wanted him as part of a team. The moment you mention the word 'mutant' in comics, people automatically think of the Ninja Turtles, such is their popularity and while I love them dearly I didn't want my characters to look so similar.
I grew up watching Masters of the Universe, and this is the real inspiration for drawing them so wildly different. I used to love how He-Man would have help from Stratos, Ram Ma, Buzz-off, and the gang. It was this eclectic mix of characters that pulled me in as a kid.
Another reason for the variety is that I wanted to show how powerful and far-reaching Wolf Corp, the antagonists of the story were. All of the Mutant Furies have been horribly affected by Wolf Corp and so band together to fight this ruthless evil!
Because no Chicken is an Island.
