Chicken Grit's Debut Issue is Released!
My comic, Chicken Grit & the Mutant Furies, is officially live on Amazon! It’s a love letter to the action-packed cartoons of the 80s and 90s with a fresh twist. Thanks to everyone who’s supported me on this journey—I hope you enjoy the read. If it sounds like your thing (or you know someone who’d love it), grab a copy and spread the word. Every bit of support means the world. Read what got us to this post in this week's blog post!

"Once more unto the breach, dear friends" was the immortal lines of Shakespeare and although I'd love to say I read Henry V first, nope I got this famous quote from Good Will Hunting. I use it because Chicken Grit & the Mutant Furies has launched and is available through our store or over on Amazon and I'm very much stepping out into the unknown.
Thinking, creating and then getting it so that it sits nicely on Amazon has been a brilliant process with lots of learning along the way, but more than any of that, more than any potential sales, it's the feeling of seeing something through to completion and that you have added (however small) something of you into the world, that has the potential to be here long after you.
Many of you who read this will know I have two sons, and that I'm in the UK. Why is this important? Well often, and certainly when I was growing up you're told in the UK to "Get a real job" what people mean by "real" when they say this is "ordinary" or "safe" jobs, which often negates the great range of occupations that you want as a kid growing up. Toy designer, comic book artist, videogame designer, actor these are all often seemingly out of reach... It's one of the things I'm most envious of when I speak to Americans - that inbuilt belief that you can do it, yes it might be a "dream" but at least your dream is given a little oxygen to breathe. That's why Chicken Grit exists, in part to show you can do cool things, bring your ideas to life and regardless of your time in life and you can put something out into the world for others to enjoy,

If you loved the Ninja Turtles, He-Man, and Thundercats you'll find yourself at home in the world of Chicken Grit & the Mutant Furies and if you're not of that generation you will get to experience just why people say the 80s and 90s cartoons were the best of any era, but Chicken Grit & the Mutant Furies puts a new twist on that formula that any comic book fan will like.
The comic book is priced at the pocket-friendly £6.99 and in addition to Chicken Grit's origin story you'll also get behind-the-scenes pictures and sketches which led to the project being completed. In addition, unlike a faceless corporation, know that when you pick up a copy of Chicken Grit your purchase is also supporting indie art projects, a dad with half an idea who wanted to see if he could do every aspect of a comic himself. I can't thank you enough for your time and support and be sure to let me know when you pick up a copy as I'd love to get your thoughts!

Reading it gave me the same vibes as the old Archie Ninja Turtle books from my childhood in all the best ways. The artwork is also crisp and over the top to really capture that Saturday Morning cartoon vibe. This modern homage to these classics is screaming for a line of toys to go along with these gnarly characters.
